Suspect in Double Shooting Surrenders to Baton Rouge Police

Deaundre WilliamsUpdate 1:00PM: Daundre Williams has surrendered to Baton Rouge Police. He will be charged with 1st degree murder and attempted 1st degree murder. The 15-year-old who was shot is now on life support at a local hospital.

Original: Baton Rouge Police spokesman Ljean McNeely is reporting a double shooting that occurred early Thursday morning.

According to reports Daundre Williams, 20, of 6545 Nottingham St is wanted by the Baton Rouge Police for shooting a 15-year-old and a 19-year-old. The shooting took place in the 1800 block of 71st St. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The juvenile was struck in the head and has been pronounced brain dead as a result of his injuries while the other suffered moderate injuries.

Police say the shooting is a result of a disagreement between Williams and the victims.

This marks the 7th homicide in Baton Rouge for 2013.
