Baton Rouge Police Recover Stolen Superbowl Ring and Other Championship Rings

Championship Rings Stolen Baton Rouge

The Baton Rouge Police have arrested 2 individuals on numerous drug charges along with possession of several stolen football championship rings.

The arrests came after a search warrant was executed at 5766 Peerless St. relative to a homicide investigation.

During the search investigators turned up several stolen football championship rings. Seized was 1 NFL Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Ring, 1 2004 LSU National Championship Ring, 1 2005 LSU Peach Bowl Ring, 1 2007 LSU Sugar Bowl Ring, 1 handgun, 1 shotgun, 4 pounds of marijuana, 10 doses of Hydrocodone and an undisclosed amount of money.

Arrested was Courtney Henderson, 26, 5338 Cadillac St, Rashee Scruggs, 30, and Jessie Scruggs, 60, both living at the Peerless St Home.

Henderson was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a firearm with CDS, Obliterated Serial Number, and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things; Rashee Scruggs was charged with 2nd Offense Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Hydrocodone; and Jessie Scruggs was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Hydrocodone.

After a short investigation, police found that the rings belonged to former LSU player, Justin Vincent.

Vincent was the MVP of LSU’s BCS Championship Game win over Oklahoma in 2003/2004. He has confirmed the rings were his and that they were stolen from a friend who was going to put them in a safety deposit box.

He declined any further comments or details about the incident stating that his friend felt very bad about it. He did say he was very happy to have the rings back, however.

All 3 suspects were booked into EBR Parish Prison.
