Baton Rouge Police Investigating Double Shooting Saturday Afternoon

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating an afternoon incident where two men were shot  on North 39th St. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman with the Baton Rouge Police, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, said the incident occurred around 2 p.m. in the 1200 block of North 39th.

The two men were shot while in a car on North 39th. When they attempted to drive away their vehicle crashed into another car at the intersection of North 39th and Odell.

One of the victims ran to a nearby home to call for help. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to McKneely.

The other victim, who was shot multiple times, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Investigators have no motives and no suspects in the incident at this time.
